It’s no secret that 2022 was a wild journey for the Web3 industry. Despite the challenges and uncertainties of navigating such a nascent space, the community and strong projects hunkered down for the “Crypto Winter”, and focused on building.
And as the year drew to a close, to celebrate the milestones and achievements of these spirited builders, College DAO co-hosted a wrap-up event gathering the blockchain community in New York at Empire DAO at the iconic 190 Bowery location.

Before we delve into the event, we want to take the time to express our heartfelt thank you to our sponsors and co-hosts. Their guidance and support were immense in putting this event together.

Sponsors
This event was made possible because of the support of OKX (@okx), one of the world’s leading cryptocurrency spot and derivatives exchanges, and zCloak (@zCloakNetwork) — a privacy-preserving computing platform empowering third-party Dapps to leverage private user proofs to provide personalized service to their users.
Co-Hosts
The organizing team for this event includes Chainbase, Spawn, Bytetrade Lab, LinkZ DAO, and of course, our team here at College DAO (@collegedao_hub) — the first and largest student-led community bringing blockchain education and opportunities to college campuses worldwide.
Chainbase (@ChainbaseOnline) is a leading Web3 data infrastructure that provides open, cloud-based APIs for real-time indexed blockchain data.
Spawn (@spawnglobal) cultivates Web3-centric student cohorts and connects their students to blockchain opportunities and events.
Bytetrade Lab (@BytetradeLab) aims to build the OS of Web 3.0, and is also actively involved in incubating and early-stage investing in Web 3.0 projects
LinkZ DAO (@LinkZDAO) is a Web3 community initiated by GenZs and blockchain industry OGs, to bridge Web3 builders to resources like funding, incubation, development, and joint ventures.

The event was a resounding success, with over 300 individuals from across the NYC blockchain ecosystem coming together to learn about each others’ projects and careers. It was a night with amazing company, conversations, and valuable connections, and we’re sure everyone got the chance to put faces behind the projects that they interact with on the blockchain.

Amidst the festivities and holiday cheer, attendees also got to showcase some of the outstanding products and platforms they have been building throughout the year. These demos gave attendees an opportunity to learn more about the latest developments in the field and see firsthand the innovative solutions and novel blockchain applications that other teams were working on. One of the many student projects at the event was Nitrility, a marketplace for IP and copyrights that is being built by an inter-college team.
The College DAO team wishes to close out this year by saying that we are extremely grateful to be a part of this blooming community. In every conversation, every handshake, and every turn, we are constantly reminded of the future we are headed toward, and we are left inspired to push the boundaries of blockchain technology. We wish you a wonderful new year, and here’s to kicking things into full gear in 2023!
